Robert P. RoseChief Executive Officer & Chairman • 36 Years in the Financial Service Industry

“When people ask what I do, I tell them, that I'm in the relationship business. Building relationships with people is the most important thing to do. Becoming an invaluable part of a client's life is what I enjoy most about the Harbour Trust approach, and I can't think of anything more rewarding.”

A Notre Dame graduate, Bob began his career in June of 1983. Prior to joining Harbour Trust, he was employed by a bank subsidiary responsible for trust and investment management services. There he worked his way from Trust Investment Officer to Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer.

Throughout his career, Mr. Rose has remained a dedicated student of his profession. He has completed courses through: The American Institute of Banking, Northwestern University - National Trust School, The American Management Association - The Management Course, and Cannon Financial Institute - Personal Trust Advanced Administration.

Bob is a native of Northwest Indiana where he has invested in future generations as an instructor for Purdue University-North Central and The American Institute of Banking. He has volunteered his leadership skills to several local organizations in the Chicagoland area.

Upon graduating from Ball State University in 1994, Stephanie began her career as a Personal Trust officer managing estates, trusts, investment accounts, retirement portfolios and non-profit accounts. Stephanie is quite accomplished, completing Cannon Financial Institute’s Trust School and earning the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor designation from Cannon Financial Institute. She has expanded her scope of learning and education to include strategic planning and risk management. Today, she is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Harbour Trust & Investment Management Company, overseeing the divisions of the company and working to execute strategic initiatives throughout the company.

Stephanie was born and raised in Michigan City and currently serves on several not-for-profit boards. As a young child her family instilled in her the importance of giving back to your community by volunteering your time to affect change. As a result, this has become the cornerstone of her values. She currently serves as a board member of the Duneland Health Council Board, is a member of the Michigan City Salvation Army Advisory Board, and past chairperson of the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Stephanie is also a member of the Economic Development Corporation of Michigan City. She is a member of the La Porte County Unity Foundation Gold Key Society and a past recipient of the Athena Award.

Brian C. MerrillSenior Vice President & Chief Investment Officer • 24 Years in the Financial Service Industry

Brian was born and raised in Muncie, IN, where he received a BS in Finance from the Ball State University Honors College. He started his investment career in 1995 as a Portfolio Manager and Investment Officer, specializing in portfolio management of high-net-worth and retirement accounts. He completed Cannon Financial Institute’s Investment Management School and passed the CFA level I examination. Brian joined Harbour Trust in 2008 as an Investment Officer and was promoted to CIO in 2013 and Senior Vice President in 2018. Brian manages the firm’s Investment Division and serves as Chairman of the Investment Committee, overseeing asset allocation strategy and individual asset selections for the firm. He also serves as the Chief Financial Officer and engages in strategic planning for the firm. Brian is a past board member of the Stepping Stone Shelter for Women, where he served as Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee. Brian, his wife Jennifer, and their 2 daughters reside in Michigan City.

Susan H. WrightSenior Vice President & Director of Personal Trust • 18 Years in the Financial Service Industry

Susan is a graduate of Valparaiso University where she earned a B.S. Degree in Business Administration. In addition, she studied and worked in the tax field and she utilizes this knowledge in performing the role of tax coordinator. Susan served for many years as the Manager of Trust Operations and now oversees the company's Tax and Internal Audit division.

Cristina is a graduate of Purdue North Central with a Bachelor's Degree focused in accounting and organizational leadership. She brings to Harbour Trust eight years of experience in Custodial Operations, Management and Customer Service from Northern Trust in Chicago. Cristina was born in Pekin, Illinois but has called La Porte County her home for over 35 years. In her free time, Cristina cherishes time with her family and friends as well as gardening, making art and volunteering for her church. Cristina is thrilled to be a part of the Harbour Trust family.

Michael K. HackettVice President & Trust Officer • 25 Years in the Financial Service Industry

After graduating from Ball State University in 1993, Mike began his career in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Harbour Trust in 2001, Mike spent eight years serving as a Personal Trust Administrator with JP Morgan Chase. There, he was responsible for both personal trust and employee benefit accounts.

Mike has successfully completed the Personal Trust School program through Cannon Financial Institute at the University of Notre Dame. He earned the designation of Certified Trust Financial Advisor in 1997 and has enthusiastically worked to maintain this designation, as well as expand his knowledge of financial planning and investment management. In an effort to further broaden his knowledge of the trust and investment field, in 2012 Mike successfully passed the CISP exam and became a Certified IRA Services Professional through the Institute of Certified Bankers. He is the head of New Business Development at Harbour Trust and serves as head of the IRA Division.

Born and raised in Michigan City, Mike has two daughters and has served 3 terms as president of the Michigan City Rotary Club and as Rotary District 6540 Assistant District Governor. Mike is the acting board president for the Lubeznik Center for the Arts.

Lori joined Harbour Trust in March 2010 and brought with her over 20 years of trust experience. Lori is an honors graduate of International Business College. In addition, she as completed the ABA Securities Services Skills, the Robert H. Franke & Associates Relationship Workshop, Cannon Trust School l, ll and lll and has many academic achievements relating to specific trust educational training and customer service.

Lori is an active community volunteer within La Porte and Porter counties and she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Nate is President of the Chesterton Town Council, member of the Chesterton Plan Commission and serves on the Board of Directors for Jacob’s Ladder Pediatric Rehab. He has served Rotary for over a decade and is currently Assistant District Governor within our region and is also past President of the Chesterton-Porter Rotary Club. He was a finance committee member and Director for the Purdue Alumni Association for many years. Nate was honored in The Times of Northwest Indiana’s 2019 “20 Under 40” class. This prestigious award is presented to young professionals who impact their community and have become key business leaders contributing to the development and growth of Northwest Indiana

He was born and raised in Porter County. Nate and his wife, Karen, have a daughter and son. They are co-authors of “Rosie Posie has Super Senses” and founded Rosie Posie Books to assist children and families with special needs. Their cheerful picture book is based on his daughter’s sensory extremes with Autism during the early years, and provides coping techniques to improve quality of life. In his spare time, Nathan enjoys spending time with his family, watching sports and studying the stock market.

Julie was born and raised in Michigan City, and lives in Michiana Shores with her husband, Richard.

Dayna PedzinskiManagement Trainee • 1 Year in the Financial Service Industry

“With the Management Trainee Program, I am going through and learning every department. I'm excited to continue learning every day at Harbour Trust and to see what the future here holds.”

Dayna joined Harbour Trust in the spring of 2018. She is a native of Michigan City and a 2015 graduate from Michigan City High School. Dayna went on to Indiana University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Financial Management. At IU, Dayna was very involved; participating in the Little 500, volunteering at the local soup kitchen, and working part time.

Upon graduation, Dayna returned back to Michigan City and began her career at Harbour Trust.

When not working, Dayna enjoys staying active outdoors with her family and friends. She is excited to see what her future at Harbour Trust entails.
